This sweet autumn butternut squash soup is nourishing and fulfilling, sure to satisfy the whole family. As the temperatures drop, we wanted to share this recipe to help keep you warm!<\/h3>\n<h4><strong><u>Ingredients<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>3 cups of diced butternut squash<\/li>\n<li>1 unpeeled, diced apple<\/li>\n<li>1 unpeeled, diced pear<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil<\/li>\n<li>2 garlic gloves, minced<\/li>\n<li>1 small onion, \u00bd\u201d diced<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon of curry powder<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon of ground ginger<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon of ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>4 cups of vegetable broth<\/li>\n<li>Salt &amp; black pepper<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup chopped walnuts (toasted), 2 tablespoons roasted pumpkin seeds, chives and plain greek yogurt as optional toppings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong><u>Instructions<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat and add the onion. Stir frequently until tender (for about 5 minutes) then stir in the garlic and continue to stir for another minute.<\/li>\n<li>Add the squash, apple, pear, curry powder, cinnamon and ginger. Stir.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in the broth, increase heat to high. Cover and bring to a boil.<\/li>\n<li>Once boiling, reduce heat and maintain at a low boil, covered for 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Let cool for about 15 minutes and transfer to a blender (if you do not have an immersion blender). Puree until very smooth. Transfer back into the pot, reheat and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with optional toppings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Pair with\u00a0 a bottle of Gewurztraminer. This semi-sweet aromatic wine has notes of cinnamon, ginger and honey that compliment the silky and spicy characteristic of this soup.<\/h3>\n<h4><strong><u>Gewurztraminer Recipe + Instructions<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>First choose if you want to make a sweet wine or a dry wine, as this will dictate a lot of your decisions when making your wine.<\/li>\n<li>Secondly, feel confident in your pronunciation of this delicious variety, as you\u2019ll be telling all of your friends about the great wine you\u2019ve made to be paired with the butternut squash soup. Let\u2019s say it together. Guh-VERTZ-truh-meen-er. That\u2019s right!<\/li>\n<li>Decide if you are going to make wine from fruit, <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.juicegrape.com\/Gewurztraminer-Original-All-Juice-23L\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">juice<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, or <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.juicegrape.com\/Gewurztraminer-Vinifera-Noble-10L\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">concentrate<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. This time of year you\u2019ll need to be making wine from juice or concentrate.<\/li>\n<li>Add <a href=\"http:\/\/www.juicegrape.com\/Pectic-Enzyme-12-OZ\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>pectic enzyme<\/strong><\/span><\/a> to your juice. This will help with settling and clarifying down the road to ensure a clear and beautiful finished wine.<\/li>\n<li>Pick the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.juicegrape.com\/fermentation-products\/yeast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">yeast<\/span><\/strong><\/a> of your choosing. Some great options for retaining the fruity, aromatic, perfume-like traits of Gewurztraminer include Alchemy I, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.juicegrape.com\/Products\/YEAST-VIN13-CP\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Vin 13<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.juicegrape.com\/Yeast-QA23-convenience-pack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>QA23<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.juicegrape.com\/Yeast-Lalvin-KV-D-47-5-Gallons-Lalvin-Packet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>D47<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. If you\u2019re using a kit, follow the directions they give you.<\/li>\n<li>If fermenting fresh juice, add Booster Blanc and Opti-White to increase mouth feel and mid-palate intensity.<\/li>\n<li>When you see the Brix drop by 2-3, add <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.juicegrape.com\/Fermaid-O-convenience-pack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fermaid O<\/a><\/strong><\/span> to your juice.<\/li>\n<li>Continue checking the Brix each day. When you see a 1\/3 drop in the starting number, add <a href=\"http:\/\/www.juicegrape.com\/Fermaid-K-convenience-pack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Fermaid K<\/strong><\/span><\/a> to ensure the fermentation remains strong and the yeast have the energy they need.<\/li>\n<li>When alcoholic fermentation is over, rack off the gross lees.
