Go-Ferm: What is it?

What is Go-Ferm?
Go-Ferm is a yeast rehydration nutrient. It contains a balance of micro-nutrients, which if these micronutrients were added directly to the must, competitive microorganisms would use a significant amount of them. Others would be chelated by polyphenols or inactivated by SO2. Because of this, do not use nutrients containing ammonia salts, such as DAP. During yeast rehydration they are toxic to the yeast at high levels.
The balance of micro-nutrients contains high levels of certain essential vitamins and minerals include:
- pantothenic acid
- biotin
- magnesium
- zinc and more.
How do I use it?
- Firstly, add Go-Ferm to the re-hydration water before adding your choice of yeast.
- Next, the yeast soaks up the available micro-nutrients as they re-hydrate.
- Mixing yeast with the essential nutrients protects them against ethanol toxicity and optimizes nutrient availability.
- Lastly resulting in fermentations that finish stronger.
